My photoshop Journey - Levels
Well, I've decided to use the web to go back to the beginning and learn the ins and outs of photoshop. Here's a handy tutuorial I found on Youtube using levels to correct exposure and also using levels for colour correction.

My Canon Equipment and others
My lens collection.
I’m what you would call a serious enthusiast. Photography is my passion and creative outlet but I have no intention of ever making a living from it.
This is my equipment, my wish list and other lenses that I believe are excellent lenses.
My current equipment
Bodies – 40D and 350D
Lenses
Tamron 17-50 F2.8 – I used this lens in for the photo in my sig in addition most of the photos from Christmas on my blog were all used with this lens. It is a good lens for the money (I paid $562 at Rainers Camera House in Brisbane). I find my lens is a nice sharp copy and a touch warmer than my L series lens but that doesn’t bother me. This lens is a good lens for both landscape and it’s still long enough for portraiture. Using the lens at its widest angle can give some cool distortion. The F2.8 can deliver nice dof.
Canon 50mm F1.8 – an absolute bargain lens at $125 to $150. Great length for portraits on the crop sensor bodies (350D/400D/450D/30D/40D) Great DOF and very sharp
Canon 70-200 F4L – this is my only L series lens. It is nice and sharp, lovely sooc colours and a great lens for photographing outdoors as you can keep photograph children from a greater distance rather than be in their face. I’m really slack with my blog so to get some good shots from this lens you’d need to go back to July 07 to the QCG outing. This was my test outing with it and I was happy with the results. I have a 16x20 Sooc image printed from this and it was perfect. Cost about $1200 in Australia
I also still have my 18-55 kit lens. It was good for some fun till I got the better Tamron one.
My Wish List
I’m still not 100% which one, but I’m researching and planning to get by the end of May either the Canon 100mm F2.8 Macro, Sigma 105mm F2.8 Marco or Tamron 90mm F2.8 marco. These macro lenses also double up as lovely portrait lenses.
Then I think I’ll have a pretty good kit. Lenses covering most focal ranges and a few good low light lenses.
Other Lenses worth a look
85mm F1.8 – Excellent portrait lens, sharp due to being a prime lens (non-zoom) – about $600-700
50mm F2.5 – worth a look if you don’t already have the 1.8 and want a macro. Read some reviews though as I haven’t looked into this lens. About $500???
50mm F1.4 – if you have the money this lens has usm and is faster – about $500??
24-70mm F2.8L – excellent L series lens, sharp, good colours, good for portraits and excellent walk around lens but approximately $2K
Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 – a cheaper alternative to the L series, most owners are quite happy with theirs and produce good photos.
